Rochelle began to sing and play the piano when she was 7 years old and has been singing in various bands since 1996. In 2002, Rochelle began to play music with guitarist/songwriter Kevin Sifferlen and recorded a six song EP in the fall of 2003. By the end of 2003, Rochelle was singing/playing as a solo artist in the Midwest and she is currently recording her second album in Nashville to be released in the winter of 2006. Many say her music is reminiscent of Alison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan, and Patty Griffin. The stories she tells are intricate, passionate, and move one’s spirit to a higher place of understanding.

Rochelle Bucher

Rochelle Bucher is a singer-songwriter from
Indianapolis, Indiana who seems to have found
her place in the world of music. Her songs have
their own unique sound evolving from influences
such as Sheryl Crow, Patty Griffin, and Sarah
McLachlan. As noted recently by a member of
Taxi’s staff, “(Rochelle’s) songs have a simple structure to them,
but also a consistency that most industry people want to hear.
(She is) focused and is not searching for a style or a flavor of the month sound.” Rochelle uses her 15+ years of playing the piano and singing to tell stories of love, heartache, and the road in between.

Currently working on her second album, Rochelle has been recording at Darkhorse Studios in Franklin, Tennessee. Differing from her solo EP, this album is backed by an accomplished group of studio musicians and will be a full length CD. The album has an estimated release date of December 2006. Along the way, Rochelle plans to work with Michael J. Media (Michael Tolcher; Daniel Ballinger; etc.) promoting her upcoming album to local and national print media and radio stations, as well as licensing agencies. Finding just the right balance between the art and business of music is a challenge that Rochelle chooses to face head on.

Rochelle is no stranger to diversity. Having played in both intimate and large venues, (Indy 500 and Brickyard Festivals), for charitable causes and celebrations, as well as doing work for a popular local radio station and marketing her material to tv/film and commercial agents, Rochelle knows how to use her talents to help others as well as further her career in music. And that’s the bottom line-with a degree from the IU school of business and a knack for thinking outside the box, Rochelle is focused on her long term goal of being a successful musician. As she states, “The true ‘art’ of being successful in life is having the drive and determination to weather the ups and downs while always being focused on the ultimate objective.”

Although the album won’t be released/completed until the end of 2006, Rochelle has already received encouragement and positive feedback from several industry professionals. One such person states, “The vocals are stellar on this track (Convince Me). You have a gift.” But Rochelle knows that giftedness alone won’t make your dreams come true and that’s why she’s focused her efforts on hard work, endurance and believing in the desire of her heart to write and sing beautiful music.
