Bio

Sindre started singing and composing at the age of 6, and is still enjoying every second. He draws on a lot of musical influences – Motown LPs he got after his mother’s trip to the US when he was a kid, conducting the youth choir in his early teens, playing in the local symphony orchestra, forming pop bands and acapella groups, and along with this he has, now thirty-something, gotten deep insight in the various aspects of love – which comes in handy when writing lyrics.

Having listened mainly to black artists his whole life, Sindre tries to incorporate the soul, passion and groove of these musicians into his own writing. Still, being a classical trained violinist, he also keeps a strong focus on melody. He works hard to make his tunes easily singable and accessible even with stripped-down arrangements. But to add some interest and ”magic” to his tunes, Sindre benefits from having listened to a lot of jazz.

Thanks to his a cappella experience, broad knowledge of different musical styles and genres and constant training of his perfect pitch, Sindre is able to arrange the most suitable and fresh backing vocals ”on the fly” during a recording session. Sindre also has the rare ability to interpret and impersonate the singing style of most known vocalists down to the last breath, and even present every twist and turn of their phrasing in a clear and understandable manner, which makes him an exellent vocal coach for other artists in the studio.
