Real Mother first exploded onto the Dayton, Ohio music scene in July of 2000. Their cutting edge combination of grinding rhythms and smooth vocal melodies combined for the perfect balance of grace and grit. Comprised of members Jeremy Knedler (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Mark Hamilton (lead guitar), Dave Corn (drums), and Dave Kimmel (bass and backing vocals), the band quickly became a mainstay in the local Dayton scene. With their sites set on getting their music heard outside of Ohio, Real Mother teamed up with
Nashville based producer Freddy Wall. Together they zeroed in on the sound of the band and produced their debut EP "Secret." Since the release of their new disc in the fall of 2002, Real Mother played around the tri-state area extensively to support the CD. In 2003, the band performed at the Nashville New Music Conference and their single "Over Me" was selected to be on the 2NMC Compilation CD.

The fall of 2003 also saw the unveiling of Step Mother, an acoustic quartet featuring all of the members of Real Mother in an intimate and unplugged setting. This has opened the doors for the band to perform in situations that they may not have normally been able to play as a full electric group, thus creating a broader fanbase for the band. While 2004 is just starting, the band has been concentrating on writing more hard hitting material with the intention of hitting the studio again in the very near future.

Real Mother is a work in progress.....
