I began writing music in 1997 to the poetry of my father, suspense novelist James Preston Girard. But influenced by the likes of R.E.M., Nirvana, Radiohead, Counting Crows, Lucinda Williams, The Beatles and John Prine, I later started writing my own songs, tending to shift moodily from jangling pop to atmospheric rock. I've released three albums: Simple Life, Along Chicago and Harper Street, all of which can be found at www.cdbaby.com. My songs are currently spinning on jango.com (www.jango.com/music/Preston+Girard) and consistently appeal to audiences of Adele, Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz, Ray LaMontagne, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, The Fray, The Script, Hinder, Three Days Grace, OneRepublic, Maroon 5, 3 Doors Down, Damien Rice, Train, Bruno Mars and The Beatles.
