Ponder began when Shawn and John met in a South American prison and swore if they ever got out, they'd stop all this cross-dressing and pursue their first love: making music. They traveled the globe seperately, enthralling audiences of up to 12 people at a time across the country. They finally teamed up in Vegas, formed Ponder and the rest is history.In addition to having won the Budweiser regional band search and having their song "After All" place as one of the top ten songs of '04 on KOMP's homegrown show, they have opened for a vast array of national actsd such as Uncle Kracker, Macy Gray, Bowling for Soup, Switchfoot and Fuel. Individually, Shawn and John have had, betwwen the two of them, 3 recording contracts w/ established or major labels, won two national songwriting awards, toured w/ bands like Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins and landed a songwriting deal w/ Warner-Chappell music publishing. Not bad for two kids once incarcerated for wearing taffeta in Argentina.
