NATALIE CHANDRA

How it all started

The NATALIE CHANDRA project originally started in 2003 when Drago Dujak (bassist and founder of The Productions Recording Arts Sagl) came across the singer Natalie Chandra who had just returned home to Switzerland the previous year, after having spent her whole life living in different countries. Her determination and passion for writing and singing songs convinced Drago and later Matteo Canonaco (guitarist and Drago’s long-time friend and band buddy) to embark on a musical journey with her. Soon after, they recorded their first single`DAISIES`, followed by the corresponding music video in collaboration with a variety of supportive individuals at their side. As the project progressed into something tangible, it quickly became evident that they would have to search for musicians to complete the line-up if they wanted to move ahead. After searching high and low for the appropriate musicians who were not only suitable for the genre, but who were also willing to commit to a long term project, they finally found Lorenzo Barenco (guitarist) and Lorenzo Milani (drummer).
THE BAND - Natalie Chandra (the band) was founded in 2005 in the Swiss Canton of Tessin (in the sunny, southern side of Switzerland). Each of the band’s members have brought the own unique flair, musical experience and originality into the music, who have all played in different cover and original bands throughout their lives. It is a rock band whose members have each been inspired by a wide spectrum of bands and artistes ranging from The Muse, Korn, Pearl Jam, Helmet, Quicksand, Filter, Soungarden, Alanis Morisette, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple…
THE SONGS…AND WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT - The lyrics and melodies cover the range of emotions and perspectives shared by Natalie Chandra. In the upcoming debut album `SinEater` will feature some of these songs which cover anything from masochistic love, emotionally unintelligent politicians, cruelty against non human living beings, to dealing with the violent nature lying dormant in many humans.

WORK IN PROGRESS - The single Daisies has had extensive radio play on RETE TRE, RETE UNO, FIUME TICINO (Tessin, Switzerland), the band has been featured newspapers `Corriere del Ticino`and `La Regione`, and have also received the following Reviewers Pick’s Awards at www.garageband.com:
