Although the line up for the Blackjacks has changed over the years, Thomas E Ketchum and the sensational singing cowboy star Morris Micklewhite are keeping the dream alive with the album WILD WESTSHOW.
The bands' style is a cross between the Kinks and Johnny Cash (a smattering of London cynicism beneath a rich, velvety coat of star-spangled optimism).
All songs were written and recorded in Colorado, New Jersey, and London between Dec. 2004 and May 2005 by Morris and Thomas.
Quotes to the artists:
Keven Rowland (Dexy's Midnight Runners) "we really haven't got clothes we can lend you, we've just got overalls"
Quotes about the artists:
Fred Goldsworthy (Wagga Wagga Chronicle, Australia) "The great thing about this CD is the image it creates of a traditional cowboy lost in England. Through that image these guys have been able to gently satirize the whole of the cowboy world - and the world of that kind of music - I think it is great".

introduction

Morris Micklewhite was brought up in South London. He always dreamed of escaping the terrible post-war rationing of England and become a cowboy. On his fifteenth birthday he stowed away on a tramp steamer headed to the New World. From there, he made his way to the Colorado Rockies and met up with a bunch of low down, cheatin' cutthroats called the Blackjacks.
