You know I feel so lucky… I mean to be living now in these times. Because, I don’t think there’s anything cooler or more uniquely human than popping a CD or tape into a stereo and cranking up a great track. When I do, I get into a groove and start to move and the next thing I know I’m gone. Swoosh - swept right into the track. What a great feeling! To be seduced by the blues or carried by a soaring guitar lick or stunned by a beautiful melody. Oh man, what passion. Add to that the great range of artistic possibilities in today’s music and it’s simply inspirational! And that really works for me too, because I never know what I’ll write – anything from delta blues to space music. And seeing as I was raised around everything from Rock N’ Roll, standards to the classics… well, you see where I might be headed.

Bio

Mike Russo was born in New York City into a musical family and was exposed to everything from Ray Charles to Mozart. His father and brother were talented musicians and so it was natural for Mike to become a guitarist. Starting in the late 60’s, Mike played with several well received groups in the New York scene including Payper, Cold Spring Harbor and the duet Wine. Mike also continued songwriting and music production and occasionally performed at several venues up and down the East Coast while pursuing other interests. As of late, Mike has returned to intense music writing and production with an array of very exciting and deep ideas including some very popular and very interesting music videos. Check it out!
