Serendipity: being in the right place at the right time. For Malia, this aligning of the planets occurred in her first school musical. "From the moment the curtain opened, something else just took over, I felt comfortable in my own skin. I knew that this was what I was meant to do, it was like, 'Oh, this is what it feels like to be home, to belong'. Malia dove head first into performing and has never looked back. Malia honed her craft performing a wide array of musical styles in venues all over the world, including various corporate show bands, cruise ships, and theme parks, and singing back-up for artists like Neil Young.
She now resides in Los Angeles, working full time as a musician and is busy writing, recording, and co-producing her latest project, an edgy alternative rock album, angsty and prolific.
Her songs have a powerful live band feel, and combined with her soulful and sultry vocals, listeners are left with a new guilty pleasure.
