Bio

You just don’t find artists like this anymore. Jocelyn's unique qualities as a female bilingual singer/songwriter and instrumentalist make it difficult to compare her to anyone past or present. “Writing and performing is all I ever wanted to do,” states Jocelyn, who began her musical escapade at the ripe age of 10. This blustery Latin brunette intrigues audiences with her passionate delivery of Spanish pop and romantic ballads.
Her appeal is not just in her ability to sing and play, but also in her ability to create seductive melodies, and evoking lyrics. Her vocals have a touch of soul, while the sounds of acoustic guitar and piano are frequently used to accentuate a feel of modern romanticism. The main influences in her music are pop, alternative and a slight feel of Jazz. Her music will leave you wondering where she’s been and where will she’ll be next. Her style has been compared to a cross between Sade and Sarah Mclachlan.
Songwriting has been one of Jocelyn’s strengths and passions, which she also began exploring at an early age (both in English and Spanish). Jocelyn states, “ Since I was very young, people would remember me the most by my musical talent. I sang and danced in school since little when I lived in Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised until the age 15.” Jocelyn began studying voice, guitar and piano at age 14, and continued in the United States with the objective to train herself as a professional musician. In order to diversify her musical style, she became a lead singer for several groups that performed jazz, pop, and salsa. During that time, she also had the opportunity to perform many of her own original songs.
While building her songwriting repertoire, Jocelyn pursued a degree in psychology and music. Her love of music and life then led her on a path as a Music Therapist for the mentally and physically challenged. “It’s rewarding as well as empowering when you use music to change the way a person feels,” Jocelyn states. “Music, in many ways, resembles life itself. It can enrage, soothe or bring out our most dormant passions.”

But really what matters here is her music. When Jocelyn Alberty is on or off stage, people listen. “It’s about being able to reach hidden emotions’,” she says. And anyone that has heard her powerful delivery would agree. Remember her name..... You won’t forget her voice.
