A semi-pro performer and studio musician for nearly 30 years, JLHanson (Jeffrey Lee Hanson) has only recently entered the world of home recording. He himself wrote, performed, engineered, and produced all aspects of Shades of Sharya on a minimum of budget equipment, with the Yamaha AW16G at the center, along with a Studio Projects B1 mic (no external preamp) and a Johnson J-Station guitar processor. The stringed instruments used, however, are among his valued favorites: a 1960 Guild Starfire IV, a 1958 double-neck Fender slide, a 1976 Yamaha acoustic, a 1990 Russian balalaika.

Shades of Sharya, which combines elements from a range of musical genres and ethnicities, is a tribute to Sharya--a very small town, deep in Russia, where the love of his life was born and rasied. This piece represents his first fully solo effort in the digital home recording domain--he hopes you enjoy it and thanks you sincerely for your interest in his efforts.
