Jim Drew 2011 Bio

Of Jim Drew, Alex Figgis of Crossrhythms says, "Tackling life head on, Jim Drew expresses his passionate, emotionally charged observations of life's seasons through some excellent acoustic driven rock of the highest calibre."

Jim has been performing concerts since the age of four. "So much of what I do is based on a love of people and a love of music and how all of that is shaped by relationships, spiritual hope and a desire to wear my heart on my sleeve. Sitting in the back of my Uncle's Buick I learned to love singing with the radio and knew it was a deep part of who I was."

Jim has developed as an artist with a real sense of purpose and direction. Music is very much a part of Jim's family heritage, going back to his great, great, great Grandfather who used to build guitars, violins, mandolins and many other stringed instruments.

Jim has shared the stage with such artists as Rick Cua, White Heart, White Cross, The Newsboys, Michael Peace, both John Schlitt and Greg Volz of the Petra era, Three Crosses, and Novella. As time passed Jim stuck with the idea of writing what was on his heart , finding a wide audience, attracting young and old alike.

Jim has performed both solo and as lead vocalist for several bands, including the progressive rock "Tradewind," the retro eighties rock of "GForce," and the Classic mixed with today of "Humble Soul." His personal music is a singer/songwriter base laced with eclectic variations of rock and folk and blues.

Jim has a desire to do more than just show up and play a concert. Jim is a stage craftsman who brings his audience on a journey into his excitement with life.

Jim, artist with Incubator Creative Group has 9 recordings to his name, including the "Toys In The River" project, which received great reviews and kick-started his work internationally for radio airplay starting with the UCB Network in London and throughout the world.

Jim is in the process of recording a new project with Artist and Producer, Randy Stonehill , well known for his insightful and infectious lyrics. Randy is known for his multiple solo projects as well as recording over the years with his friends Phil Keaggy, Bob Halligan, Rick Cua, Rick Elias and so many others. This project is a wonderful highlight in Jim's career because Randy is one of Jim's main influences.

Jim is ready for a new era to share important moments with audiences who love authenticity and rich lyrics. Though a professional and long time stage artist, Jim's rehearsing and desire to create these special moments in concert are the backbone of his efforts.

Says Ken Davis about Jim's music "Jim's music is built around his deceptively simple, but always appropriate acoustic guitar playing. He is a powerful balladeer who has integrated classic rock, west coast country, and even some Celtic influences - I'm impressed both with the clever, yet not overdone lyricism of the album - If you like John Mellencamp, I think you'll like this.
