Jessica Loren has accomplished a great deal for her eighteen years: a gifted Canadian singer performer, her debut album was just released digitally with tab Records DEP/UNIVERSAL with a physical release set for early May across Canada.
It's her talent and passion for music that led her to work with Canadian songwriter and producer Tino Izzo (Celine Dion Taking Chances and D'Elles albums; Jacynthe Look Who's Crying Now; Garou; Roch Voisine; Yuna Ito; SAYA...) resulting in a gripping debut Album "Lavender Walls".
The recording studio experience was one that Jessica has absolutely loved. "It's like being in your own world. You go in anticipating what the final product is going to be like. When I finally get to hear the fully-mixed song, I plunge right into what the lyrics are communicating and it's like getting into it all over again."
Jessica has a deep appreciation for the lyrical content of the songs. The feelings of loneliness that emerge from a relationship gone wrong with a close friend, getting older, living freely, living in the now, making an effort not to think about all the worries that invade one's life, how she and her friends grew up so quickly and how you sometimes want to desperately slow down time, are recurring themes in the lyrics of her songs. She's hopeful that others will be able to relate to the songs on their many levels, even the more playful undertones of a song like "Wiser Still" and its uncanny reference to Cheerios. She quips: "I still like Cheerios, but I love my Special Ks as I get older."
Older maybe, but still a teenager with all that comes with it. "I'm into Facebook, sleepovers, amusement parks, scary movies, dancing, parties, going out and of course, spending time with friends. I like casual dress, just jeans and a t-shirt but I also enjoy to dress up if I have to go anywhere". Girls will be girls.
