Jessica Drake

hey, i'm jessica drake, 21. i've been writing songs for about 9 years, and i'm in the process of making my debut album due out beginning of 2009. then i get to start touring! well, that's the now, but i guess the history goes like this: every christmas or birthday list since i was 11 consisted of either a musical intsrument or recording device and nothing else. i picked up guitar and a 4 track tape recorder first and started recording myself, 100 tapes later, i upgraded to a digital recorder with 16 channels, so here i was in my bedroom with guitars, keyboards, drum machines, piles of cords, papers, guitar pedals and amps, and a mirror with a piece of paper stuck on it that i wrote "stick to it" on in red. needless to say i never had a clean room. O WELL. then i started doing open mics and uploading songs onto myspace once i felt i was ready. i quit sports senior year so i could just go home and write all day. then i got into berklee college of music and moved to boston to learn from the greats. right after i moved, i had a lot of changes in my life, some great, and some very traumatic, my writing has developed drastically since then and just in time to meet my producers! jimm mosher and alan grossman! being in a real studio instead of me having to punch all the buttons and waste hours and hours on figuring out how to use phantom power microphones and do EQ levels myself, my writing was all i had to worry about. so i guess i'm back to the now, just working to get the album out and setting up a touring schedule. i'm so glad i kept that little piece of paper with me through the years....
