was born in Lake Forest, Illinois. She began singing and performing as young as 4 years old, eventually being accepted into the music program at California State University, Northridge. Soon, Miami Florida had an opportunity for her to record with some industry greats such as Jim Johnson and Derrick "Bigg D" Baker. Shakari's major musical influences include Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
