I'm an English singer-songwriter producing mainly guitar and piano-based material. I perform both as a solo artist and as part of the trio the "Ian Thornton Band", based in Belgrade, Serbia. At present, I have at least two CDs worth of high quality original recordings, with many more songs in development.

I write traditional pop/rock songs with a slight jazz edge. However, I'm classically trained and can turn my hand to most styles. I'm comfortable writing for myself or for other male/female voices, and can adapt well to an established artist profile. I'm also a fiction and non-fiction writer, with 30+ publications to-date. Lyrically, my songs are particularly strong.

I was born and brought up in London and lived in the UK until my early 20s. Since then, I have lived in a number of different places, including a fun year in Japan, several in Sydney, Oregon, NYC, Boston and Germany. From late 2006 I will trying hard to be the best English songwriter in Belgrade, Serbia!!!
