Government-A was founded in Spokane, Washington in the summer of 2001 by a close-knit group of friends: Eddie Ramirez (Bass, Vocals), Steve Wylie (Drums, Vocals), and Evan Denlinger (Guitar, Vocals). Later that same year, Johnny Ramirez (Guitar, Vocals), Eddie’s brother, would also join the band.

As individuals, these musicians have been playing since their pre-teen years. They represent a wide mixture of styles, ranging from R&B and Pop, to Latin, Rock, and Nu-Metal. Their vast experience can also be heard on a host of custom projects from a variety of artists.

The band began writing original music and playing shows together by the end of 2001. The quality of their musicianship, their notable vocal talent, and the raw energy of their live shows, quickly set them apart as a band worth watching.
