About Flaunt
The story so far….
Flaunt was launched onto the music scene by it’s two founding members Milan Perkins (vocals, keyboards, guitar) and Josh Millen (guitar) in the summer of 1998/99. Since then, Flaunt has experienced a dynamic history of recording and live performance, which includes the release of the album "Funky Lounge and Unique Nasty Tunes" in early 2000. Having teamed up with Stevie Lowry, one of Australia’s best bass players with a unique song writing style, the three collaborated with Matty Bray (now heading K-O) to create a sharp, energetic live show. This earned them a residency at Revolver and a multitude of gigs at some of Melbourne’s best known venues such as, The Evelyn Hotel, The Esplanade Hotel, Seven Nightclub, One-Six-One and The Fishstock Music Festival as well as support gigs for great Australian acts such as Motor Ace, Rebecca’s Empire and Brown Hornet.
In 2001 the track ‘Not My Day’ from the album, rated and held the number 1 position on the indie chart, number 5 on the alternative chart and number 8 on the rock chart at MP3.com.au. In 2001–2003 another two tracks, "Agitation" & "Mask" were featured on two TV series, "Crash Burn" & "The Secret Life Of Us" and "Mumblefunk" has been used in 2005 for an entry in the renowned Tropfest Short Film Festival.
A well earned two year break saw Stevie further develop his phenomenal bass playing and arrangement skills, Milan take off on a "cultural song writing expedition" of Europe and Asia and Josh accept a once in a lifetime opportunity working in Vietnam as a program consultant to UNESCO. The boys are now back inspired, refreshed and tighter than ever. After a well received private launch for their die hard fans, the release of their latest acoustically driven EP "Just In Case" signals the arrival of an accomplished and polished act with a timeless smooth rock groove that delivers to their long time fans while opening Flaunt up to a whole new and much wider audience.
