The origin of FACECAGE dates back to June of 2001. Wasting little time, FACECAGE quickly hit the club circuit and established themselves as a powerful and professional live act, opening for many metal national artists and encountering swift fan devotion with every performance. FACECAGE has developed a tremendous and loyal following built on the strength of their energetic, crowd-inspiring live show. Thirteen months succeeding the formation of FACECAGE, the band released their self-titled CD to a near sold out crowd at the famous, Hairy Marys in Des Moines. Within one month of the FACECAGE release national praise soon followed as FACECAGE was named one of the top 20 unsigned bands by XM Liquid Metal Radio. Due to the obvious strength of the CD, the Metal Post of San Francisco named “Facecage” the best independently released CD of the year for 2002.
