Emptyself is hauntingly beautiful music from artist/producer Eric Johanson, featuring lush acoustic guitars, trip-hop and industrial beats, and emotionally revealing lyrics. Fans of Portishead, A Perfect Circle, Massive Attack, Zero 7, and Nine Inch Nails should give Emptyself a listen.

Known for his underground, intellectual rock band Cire, Johanson created Emptyself as a new outlet for expression. The inspiration for this new project came in the form of several songs that defied normal genre classification, and yet were strangely accessible at the same time. Wanting to keep the visions pure, Johanson decided against the generic band format, instead blending heartfelt lyrics with acoustic and electronic textures to acheive a sound that might be described as "dark R&B". This sound derives itself from a wide range of musical influence in everything from blues, trip-hop, rock, to eastern tonalities.

After a reviewer directed me to your work, I must say I really enjoyed the ambient and lounge sensations I received upon playing your music.

I very much enjoyed the simplicity of your guitars followed with a heart felt vocal performance with interesting engineering effects.

The reviewer in question led me to believe you were industrial... Given... I didn't hear NIN downward spiral here, but I certainly heard perfect circle and a slew of other note worthy artist that really lean to the lighter side of dark.

I wish you the best in your conquest to get your work out there, and would gladly recommend you to other artists and fans alike.

Look me up when you want to take it to the next level.
