Welcome to the Emergency Room. Spear-headed by multi-instrumentalist Eddy Ruyter, Emergency Room is a Toronto-based electronic pop/rock group blending a high-energy performance with a whole bunch of weird noises that synthesizers make. Ruyter has spent years working with national and international artists including Aberdeen, Eva Avila, Raghav, Afsheen, Liz Coyles, Chad Price, Hedley, Keisha Chanté, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.
Now moving onto his own project, Ruyter is backed by a rotation of high-profile musicians, most commonly working with bassist Adam Dugas (Aberdeen, The Envy, Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers) and drummer Andrew Stricko (Faber Drive). 'Our plan is pretty much to take over the world, kinda like Pinky and the Brain' Ruyter is quoted as saying. While that might be a little unrealistic, the group does a great job at keeping a crowd entertained, with frontman Ruyter occasionally climbing and hanging from anything he can. Set to release their first studio album
