DEZMEN (Peter Mendez) is an artist/producer who delivers his music with a Latin swag. Writing about real life situations and events, DEZMEN pours his heart and soul into his music. His delivery displays the emotion and rawness of his talent. He writes in many different genres, (Bachata, Bolero, Merengue, and Salsa), both in English and Spanish. He works on bringing his audience something new and fresh. Growing up in a Dominican home, merengue, salsa, and boleros were the first genres DEZMEN was exposed to. Artists such as Nelson Ned, Johnny Ventura, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, and others influenced and shaped his perception of music. DEZMEN began taking music lesson at the age of 6 but dropped out in order to hang out in the streets with his friends. While in the streets he was exposed to R&B and rap music. The hardcore gangster Hip-Hop scene was in full effect and everyone wanted to be the hardest dude on the block except for DEZMEN. "I liked rap music. Wu-Tang, Biggie, Tu-Pac and Nas are great and I could relate to there music because I was out there doing some dumb stuff, but The Roots were the ones who really caught my attention". DEZMEN teamed up with DEMOS to create DEZMEN & DEMOS, a Hip-Hop/Urban Latin sound and style that brought two cultures together at a different level. After numerous performances and songs, DEZMEN & DEMOS mutually separated in 2010.
