From the roots of rock/blues, we stay true to the groove and feel of the greats who came before us, as we have drawn inspiration from many sources.

The members of the Dennis Mitchell Band have countless hours of experience between them, and have played with and opened for nationally recognized artists, as well as the fact that Dennis, Mike and Todd also do double duty as members of the Kingsmen, "America's Greatest Party Band." Mike Mitchell is a founding member of that band.

So, just who are these guys?

When THE DENNIS MITCHELL BAND shows up to play, they bring to the stage something old, new, and some Country Rock'n Blues. The band is new on the scene, but its members sure are not.

Dennis Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Todd McPherson, Steve Miller, and Brian Johnsen have all paid their dues with well known bands. Three members ( Both Mitchell brothers and McPherson) play with the Kingsmen ( of "Louie Louie" fame). All have played with well known Portland or Northwest bands like NO TIES, THE CHOIRBOYS, MISSILE'S END, and AIRBORNE.

You never know exactly what to expect from a new band. Most new groups have little stage experience and try to fit a specific niche. Mitchell's band members, however, have incredible versatility. They have all mastered different instruments, and often trade off between bass and guitar. It comes from years and miles on the road, and a true dedication to always improving upon their craft. Dennis and Mike each play lead and rhythm and sing. McPherson plays bass, lead and also sings. Miller, the keyboardist also sings and plays bass. The drummer, Brian Johnsen, sticks to what he does best, which is lay down a fat groove and drive the band.

Dennis has an engaging personality as he fronts the band. The band is very tight and shows power while rocking through mostly blues and rock tunes, with a few hard country numbers thrown in. They are a band in the original rock tradition that will make you want to dance!

They're also working hard on additional original material as they make a push towards national recognition. Even with their collective history, they agree with one of the songs on their current CD: "It's Getting Better All The Time!" They are having fun, and it is CONTAGIOUS, so don't miss seeing these guys when they come to your town!
