GREETINGS! Dean Brown is a multi-instrumentalist and a dynamic performer of original reggae/dub music. He is currently marketing his 13 song indy release 'The 50 Pound Dub Plate'. Appealing to all music fans as well as deep roots reggae, his records showcase his clever arranging and songwriting. In Dean's words, "Reggae has been an inspired & spiritual direction for me within the broad spectrum of genres I am influenced by. My path is inspired by the people behind reggae like Karl Pitterson & Lee Perry and others like Burning Spear, Tosh, Marley, Third World, Culture & Steel Pulse. I love plenty dancehall, country, r&b, rock & hip hop & pop. I grew up with pop radio. While I am capable of hopping genres, I consciously market myself as a reggae artist because I see a great void for it. Its something I will always be doing." The Story of Dean Brown and The

GREETINGS & LOVE TO ONE & ALL!! Dean Brown is a multi-instrumentalist and a dynamic performer who has broken many venues to Reggae and found new audiences for the music. He is currently marketing his 13 song release 'The 50 Pound Dub Plate'. Appealing to fans of world music, rock & hip hop as well as classic reggae his recordings showcase his clever arranging and songwriting and a unique recipe of Reggae/Ska/& "DUBBYTHANGS" as the central driving element. In 2007, United Way used his composition 'Make It Better' (also featured on this page) as the theme song for their central Georgia fundraising campaign to support Childrens Hospitals in 38 Georgia Counties. This venture raised his profile in the local music community as an innovative songwriter as well as a dynamic performer & arranger. He has appeared with the Cosmic Lovebeat Soundsystem in Atlanta which is run by the great roots vinyl artist, Aba Shaka. More projects are planned with that. Thru this association with Aba he landed a gig working with Jamaica's legendary Cedrick Myton & the Congos after he walked in and played keyboards at their soundcheck. In 2003, the multi-instrumentalist dean worked with Erica Newell of the Melody Makers on songs for what would become her debut CD. He continues to release original music as well as colaborate with other artists like his original bandmate and songwriter 'Kariba', an incredible jazz vocalist/songwriter. In Dean's words, "Reggae occupies a very uncharted & unique musical & cultural realm so from day one, it has been an inspired & spiritual direction for me within the broad spectrum of genres I am influenced by. Jamaica was the original kitchen of Reggae Music and REGGAE has had a huge international audience since the days of 'The Israelites' and 'Catch a Fire.' My path is inspired by the people behind reggae like Karl Pitterson & Lee Perry and others. And what Burning Spear, Tosh, Bunny, Marley, Third World, Culture & Steel Pulse & Augustus Pablo started. Today I love Buju, Morgan Heritage as well as plenty dancehall, country, r&b, rock & hip hop, but I have my own sound within reggae. I grew up with pop radio & lotta country, gospel, soul & r&b as well as reggae at home. While I am capable of hopping genres, I consciously market myself as a reggae artist because there is such a void for it and they are my core audience. Eveyone else joins them when the music plays. The more I grow, I feel the need to continue and do something new and innovative with real 'deep classic' reggae cause there is a real void for it today. Its something I will always be doing."
