Daydreamer originated in July 2001 as a songwriting project. The group quickly began to take shape both musically and in the public eye. Characterized as catchy, clever, and contagious, this duo has developed a fail-proof formula for winning the attention of its listeners. The music is fun, sometimes playful, yet drenched in a backdrop of intensity. Caution to listeners as this material may be unsuitable for children of the progressive and the innovative. Perhaps even offensive is the insistency to remain faithful to four-chord progressions. Holding true to the menu of the mainstream, Daydreamer can be found in the company of pop-rock entrees, seasoned to the taste of pop-punk lovers as well as to the liking of the post-teenybopper.
Someone Like You - Lyrics
SOMEONE LIKE YOU
Words and Music by Ben and Andrew Johnson 2003
It’s hard to say, but I could be wrong
too tough to tell now what your thinkin’
If I could be inside of your head
I’d know what’s goin’ on, yeah
You caught me starin’ with the black dress
you said please hold me so tightly, politely,
don’t ever let go of me baby
I’ll never miss you anymore,
It’s hard to believe that
you never felt like this before
Cause it’s one big game that you like to play
one more time that you
took me for someone like you
It’s one big game, to you
I slip on bye, when you come around
It’s hard to cry when you’re only joking
If you could try to see it my way
You’d know what’s goin’ on, yeah
(chorus)
Distracted - Lyrics
DISTRACTED
Words and Music by Ben and Andrew Johnson 2003
You don’t know, but I’ve been thinkin’
a lot about you lately
And I’m not quite sure just yet,
but you’ve got my attention baby
If I had just one wish
a moment with you would make it
Impossible
Impossible to live without you
What was it that you were sayin’
Repeat again cause I ain’t listenin’
What was it that you were sayin’ to me
You don’t know how much I’d like to
see a ring around your finger
If I had a sense of time
If you had a sense of humor
If I seem removed
from your topic of conversation
I’m a little bit distracted
just a little bit distracted
Chorus 2X
Pack your picture in my wallet
I hadn’t seen you for so long
It’s getting late, but it’s not too late to call
and I’m a little bit distracted by it all
You don’t know but I’ve been thinkin’, been thinkin’
Cover Girl - Lyrics
Cover Girl
Words and Music by Ben and Andrew Johnson 2001
So pristine like Maybelline
she’s got the best of everything
and all the guys say she’s the queen
Silver braids a glittered smile
I think I’ll stay here for awhile
she’s got a sparkle in her eye
She’s magical, she’s magical
She’s on the magazine,
what you see is what you see
her face smiling in front of me but I can’t see
what is real, cover girl, cover girl
She’s fair she’s fine, she’ll blow your mind
one of a kind
how could you have been so blind
All her friends think that she’s great
her every motive to elate
she wears Abercrombie 8
She’s popular, she’s dazzling
(chorus)
(chorus)
Falling For You - Lyrics
FALLING FOR YOU
Words and Music by Ben and Andrew Johnson 2003
Letting, letting go as you slip into the car
slowly, slowly watching before you get too far
Softly singing to the song, the one I wrote for you at prom
maybe, maybe this is what we wanted all along
Something traps me
you’re all around me and I’m
Ninety million miles from here
stranded in the stratosphere
I’m captured by this moment spared for you
When everyone is all made up
if not for you then all for what
Falling for you has never been so easy
Trying, it’s difficult to find the words to say
and all the other girls are boring, but I like the games
you play
To look back, to where we were a year ago today
and periodically I’ll read the letters that you wrote me
Something traps me
you’re all around me and I’m
(chorus)
So you sounded like you were down
I felt you sinking slowly
in time to wrap my arms around you so sweetly
(chorus)
Looking Glass - Lyrics
LOOKING GLASS
Words and Music by Ben and Andrew Johnson 2003
I’m wide awake tonight,
the things that were spoken
have all been left undone outside my living room
Please don’t change
the difference between
living on the edge and over everything
There’s a lot of things that I could never change about you
like the way you comb your hair
There’s a lot of things you’d like to hear me say about you
but I don’t really care
I’m wide awake tonight,
the things that were spoken
have all been left undone outside my living room
Please don’t change
the difference between
living on the edge and over everything
There’s a lot of things that I could never change about you
like the way you comb your hair
There’s a lot of things that I could never say about you
So say what you mean
and mean what you say
I think we’ll all have a brighter day
when you mean what you say
have a brighter day
(chorus)

What People Are Saying About “Falling For You” by Daydreamer
“Pop Perfection”
“Hats off to all those that were involved with this recording. This is modern pop, not postmodern, not alt-pop, just a Great song. Radio friendly production meets a talented group, wait I think I have heard of this combo before, isn't that called chemistry and shouldn't that result in a hit! Well it has. Whether it ever gets on the radio or not, it's well worthy! ...I really dug this.
Thanks for sharing.”

“snap crackle...”
Nice soothing vocals, good backup vocals too. This is pop. If you think of poppy rock music, something like this comes to mind. If you're into rock that pops, check this out.

“Cute, good for the girls. Still likable and I wouldn't argue with her if she was playing it on the stereo. I would definitely let it play through.”

“relaxing!”
This song is very relaxing like that of something I could fall asleep to. I mean that in a good way. It is very pretty and has a nice melody. I like the fact that you didn't over powertise the chorus when you brought in the overdrive guitar, good job! The vocalist is has very good control and nice tone
