Daryl who is known as "confucious" to the music circle, has been blazing bass strings for quite a while. Besides performing with Sade, Joe Zawinal, Osibisa and others, he is in costant demand from studios throughout the fusion community. Born in New York City, he is of Brazilian descent. In fact he started as a professional drummer as a teenager. The bass was an instrument he picked up as therapy for his wrist after tearing ligaments in his wrist during an African drum clinic. After getting used to speeding his fingers in his percussive nature he found it harder to put the bass away totally. Now he is known as one of the top bassist in the music world.
