Bio

Daniel Smith was born in 1969 - just one month prior to the first moon landing. Daniel was raised in the small suburb of Latonia, Kentucky, which is just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio.

While attending high school, Daniel got a job at a local bakery, cleaning up after the bakers were finished making the donuts, pies, etc., and that's where he began to really appreciate music as he worked mostly alone and had a radio as his constant companion.

At age fifteen his parents reluctantly purchased him a drum kit, which he banged on mercilessly for hours on end, not knowing that the seeds of his musical aspirations were being planted. He continued to teach himself and was about to be rewarded.

During college, he met up with some local guys looking to jam and needed a drummer. Daniel was eager to play with other people instead of simply playing along with the radio. The jam sessions soon turned into playing fraternity parties and then into gigs at local clubs and the rock and roll band, "NO EXIT" was formed. Daniel had always sung backup vocals but when the lead singer was forced to quit, Daniel took over his role, singing and playing drums. It turned out he had a really good voice and they played to packed houses wherever they performed.

The members of the band went their separate ways in mid 1993.

Daniel moved into an apartment and since playing drums was not good for neighbor relations, he purchased a guitar and taught himself to play, thereby enabl
