daisycutter began forming in boston in the cold throes of the winter of 2001, when lead singer scott matalon and bassist johnny p began playing and songwriting together with an ear to starting a new, original band based on the music they loved best; a vision of combining the new electronica & synth revolution with powerful and melodic, classic hard rockin' tunes.

lead guitarist mike deangelis, a long-time close friend of bassist john, joined the band in september 2002. well known for his incredible guitar work with perrennial boston favorites against all gods and the hangouts, mike's fluid style perfectly complements john and craigs' solid low end and scott's rappin 'n singin'...

drummer craig matalon, brother of lead singer scott, joined in march of 2003 completing the full-time band line-up. craig has played with new-york based perseverance, hangman's jury and dead end jack, and has been heavily influenced by danny from biohazard and the appiece brothers.
