cryptic scenery was founded in 1994 by the German musician and psychologist Christian H. Soetemann. Over the years, cryptic scenery has released a number of CDs, CD-Rs, some vinyl and some tape, covering a wide range of styles and genres - from New / Cold Wave to Ambient, from Drone music to Art Rock, from Minimalism to catchy songs. The red thread through all this material is a focus on atmospheric and hypnotic moods.
