Bio

Critically Acclaimed consists of Brooklyn-bred MCs Quartermaine (Daryl Francis) and C.A.L.I.B.E.R. (Whit McKnight) and Houston DJ Marshall Law (Marshall Gary). The group's music is a blend of laid-back storytelling and up-tempo party jams that reflects their range of influences from the early 90s (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul) to the early 2000s (Jay-Dee, Slum Village).

Critically Acclaimed first gained notoriety for their energetic and spontaneous live shows that combine captivating stage presence, DJ accompaniment, and show-stopping a cappella songs. The group has performed throughout the East Coast (Spa and The Knitting Factory in New York University of Maryland, George Washington University, Virginia Tech), both solo and alongside hip hop talents such as Ghostface Killah , The Beatnuts, Little Brother, and Mr. Lif. Critically has also received praise in a number of print publications, including The Washington Post , Urb, and Elemental Magazines.

The group's first 12" single --"Wallflower" b/w "Flashback Remix" -- was released independently by TDH Records in February 2003 and was subsequently distributed commercially by Up Above Records . The record charted well with college DJ's across the US, Canada, Japan, and Western Europe.

The success of Critically Acclaimed's first 12" has led to inclusion on commercial compilations worldwide.
"Wallflower" was featured on Unthugged , a collection by prominent British DJs Greenpeace and Yoda that was released in Europe
