Courtney Ateyeh

Courtney Ateyeh is a 19 year old singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas. Courtney currently attends The University of Dayton and is earning a BA in Music with a focus in Voice. She has recorded two demo's and has performed in many places all over Austin, such as - Red Rum, Waterloo Icehouse, Jovita's, and Rutmaya to name a few. Along with singing and writing Courtney plays the guitar and is currently taking piano. Courtney has composed an array of different songs anywhere from pop to straight acoustic. Growing up she was influenced by people such as Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Jewel, Christina Aguilera, Fiona Apple and Etta James. When asked what inspired her music Courtney stated “My music is all derived from personal experiences I, or people close to me have had. Happy or sad I believe songs are therapy and being able to share my words with the world in hopes reaching people be would a dream come true. Music is such a huge part of my life and given the opportunity I would love to return the favor by sharing with people my experiences through my songs”. Ateyeh has been singing since she could speak and her outgoing personality helps her relate especially personally to her audience while performing. Whatever the song her emotional voice draws you in and makes you never want to leave.
