Bio

Although the name may imply its components are urbanites, City Lights is ironically located in rural western New York State. This twosome, headed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Mike Shedlock and exceptional bassist/drummer Sean McLay, uses elements of funk, alternative, soul, and blues to generate a very appealing, mainstream sound. Since its conception in December 2001, City Lights has used McLay's modest home studio to assemble and record a great collection of songs in full band form.

Those who hear this duo immediately recognize the musical chemistry, an obvious reflection of Mike and Sean's tight friendship. Contagious melodies and heartfelt lyrics, coupled with solid musicianship, leave listeners feeling excited and refreshed. City Lights yields a resonance that would appeal to the masses and has already captivated audiences within reach.

A rustic location and reluctance to work with sub-par musicians has unfortunately kept this high potential project from taking the stage. One thing is for sure, this pair known as City Lights possesses the songwriting ability and energy demanded by music fans and record labels alike, and should be heard sooner than later. By all means, hear them for yourself.
