benjamin! was born in Los Angeles, California, living there until the age of 11 years, at which time he moved to Madrid, Spain. As a child, he studied drama in Los Angeles under the tutelage of Lorene Tuttle.
While still a teenager, Benjamin's initial 'taste' of the music recording industry came with the hit "Paris Latino", by the Paris based French pop group Bandolero on Virgin Records France. Since then he has collaborated professionally with artists from such diverse countries as Spain, Morocco, France, Brazil, Argentina, England, and Equatorial Africa, to name a few.
benjamin! studied music and drama at Santa Monica College for a year. Subsequently, spurred on by a contract signed with Polygram Iberica (Spain), he continued his musical globetrotting, composing or co-composing over 45 titles released worldwide, mainly in the Spanish and French speaking markets, overall selling more than 3 million units, including his 1990 hit “You’ll Never Fall” from his Polygram solo CD “Benjamin”.
In Madrid, Spain, as a television host/co-host for four years of such extraordinarily successful music programs as "PONTE LAS PILAS- (GET ENERGIZED), "LOS PRIMEROS" (THE TOP HITS LIST), and "ZONA DE JUEGO", benjamin! was able to develop fully his on-camera personality. benjamin! also gained extensive international exposure in the Spanish-speaking world as those programs were beamed worldwide via satellite on TVE Internacional (Television Española).
