Let It Go
© Will Stanley 2017
I know you get upset with some of the things that I do
But you need to understand, I don't do them to frustrate you
I've got my own lifestyle, the best course for you might be to smile
Cuz if you're waiting for me to change, it's really gonna be awhile
It may seem unorthodox, but that don't mean my head's full of rocks
Sometimes I need to do it my own way, and that's why I say
Let it go, let it go.
I know that you get bugged by some of the things that I think
But I hope you never let my opinions drive you to drink
I may have a different view, but that don't mean that it ain't true
My life experience has molded my attitude.
You call it counter-productive, but I say that it's instructive
And rather than join the fray, I've got to say
Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go.
Like-minded people can disagree, and that sure goes for you and me.
They say there's no such thing as a couple that's perfectly matched
And every time you find something new, it's like starting from scratch
Why don't we just sit back, drop our guard and then relax
Cuz it's clear that we believe alternative facts.
You feel I'm just being headstrong, I guess that's better than being wrong
There's one more thing I want to convey, I can't help but say
Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go (repeat)
