THE GROOVE is an old school rock band- a throwback to another attitude, before the video age, before style began to trump substance, before music became so disposable. Their music has been described as organic, steeped in traditional styles and built on a solid roots foundation. Under the leadership of singer songwriter Rich Lerner, they have been performing at bars, clubs, private parties and street festivals for years. Influences include Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Marley, Jerry Garcia, Rolling Stones, Santana etc. In live performances, The Groove is a high energy “jam band”. In the studio, they are more straight forward and ‘song’ focused. Their album of Dylan covers got radio airplay on over 100 stations across the US & Canada in 2000. The newest album of original songs, Vanishing Moon has been broadcast on over 85 stations, many in solid rotation.
