Just had the coolest weekend. Met John Capek (Rhythm of My Heart - Rod Stewart) and he gave me some great info to fix up a song I am working on. The feedback was great.

Info

  • Genre: Folk - Rock
  • City: Halifax
  • Province: Nova Scotia
  • Country: CANADA

His "Folk-Rock" sound is lyrically intelligent, with a pop hook. William has been writing for over twenty years, won a few regional song contests and awards, and has enjoyed radio play. Most of his musical time is spent in studio, "It's really where I'm most comfortable."

William grew up in a thriving Celtic music tradition on the Atlantic coast of Canada. Hints of that Celtic influence can be heard seeping out in a 6/8 rythm in many of his songs. Lyrically, the songs paint pictures, a window into his experiences.

Influences - Don Henley, Bruce Springsteen, Bruce Hornsby, Sting, and Mark Knopfler.

As a guitar player and producer/engineer, his songs are written on guitar and the arrangements are generally guitar driven. "I feel a great song is a vehicle for a story, I use my guitar as a means to get the story told."

The songs say the rest.
