Thanks Julia. I have such high hopes for this one. And it's the most personally honest song I've written from the standpoint of being totally true to life from start to finish :-) - a love song of sorts for my wife. And she actually really likes it, which says a lot coming from my toughest critic.

You're right Julia, the bridge is such a cool section! So often bridges can be more of an afterthought but this one was a killer!
Nathan's got some big things going on musically. TAXI music is making him highlighted member of the month for April, and he has a great Folk duo partnership with a talented songwriter named Michelle. He's such an honestly fantastic human being who deserves nothing but the best.

You've got a really incredible song here Doug, and I'm really thrilled to have had a hand in it! I'm reading all these comments and feeling pretty blessed to be in company with such awesome and supportive people. Yeah, you have no clue how cool it was when I first saw Doug was getting into this side of music. He's the Dr. who really got us on track with our oldest son who has had such a rough road with his health. Not just an amazing healer, but a truly awesome person and friend. I'm so happy we get to connect on another level aside from what we already had in our friendship! Rock on guys, and thanks for all the kind words!
How old is your son Nathan? What was the health issue which Dr Doug was able to sort out? (if you don't mind me asking!!) :D

Our oldest son is 9 now. It's been a pretty long road. He has an auto immune disorder that affect almost every aspect of his and our lives.
Thanks for sharing Nathan. I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm glad Doug was able to help. How many children do you have? I have 3 kids, my oldest Lara is 6 and she has been suffering from Leukemia since she was 2 but she seems to be better now, however a year ago she had a nasty relapse and it was a stressful time. Her brother was a bone marrow match and so she had a transplant in June.
What a terrible ordeal you've had to go through with Lara. I had no idea Zac. Hopefully things start to remedy themselves. Please consider looking into an earthing sheet for her - http://www.barefoothealing.com.au/v/what-is-earthing/22 1 This is very protective against tendency to bloodborne cancers like leukemia and brain tumors.
I had no idea, Zac! We will send prayers to you and your family continually!..so heartily sorry to hear this .. May she cont. strength and healing, and strength for your family ..... And Nathan prayers out to your son and family as well...
Thank you Doug and Julia; I'm pleased to say that since her bone marrow transplant she has continued to be `clear' for 6 months now, but we are always vigilant because the first time she was `cured' it came back after a few months of remission. So no longer are we complacent!
I understand the fear you may have... May she be healed and continue to be " cleared"... Again many prayers !! It sure does make life's every second precious...

It's a lovely old beat up six string banjo that has a lot of personality and this is the first song I've actually mustered the nerve to try to record with it haha. Really appreciate your comments!

Sweet! I love so many instruments, but I don't think I've fallen in love with one so quickly as the banjo. It really is impossible to be sad when you're playing one haha!
That's why I need it - now if I could just figure out how to change the strings! It really is funny - I'm a piano girl. I wasn't sure which way to put the end in, then I forgot to do the loopy thing, and then I wrapped it the wrong way. Sometimes Piano is so much easier, lol!
haha. I haven't tackled that yet. I have to admit though I am a string instrument guy, I am the worlds worst for keeping on to of string replacing. My old strings are all oxidized and black and nasty :) haha. I guess I'll let you be my inspiration and get to some of these neglected jobs :D!

Thanks cham. When I say my kids I mean my vocal team. Every time I record a new cd I audition kids and train them for studio work. They each get paid. Cool gig for a kid who loves to sing.
