Alice Marie, the Brazilian with the French name and Celtic spirit, likes to get metaphysical with her songwriting which she describes as "having sex with your higher self."

In the short time since the release of her debut EP Equilibrium, she's garnered international sales, rave reviews, Internet airplay, a coveted spot at the Songwriters' Circle at the Bitter End, praise from Bob Leone of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the interest of a label set to release one of her songs on a compilation CD of emerging artists.

She's most often compared to Natalie Merchant, Alanis Morissette, and Tori Amos, but her vocals and arrangements also reveal Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Loreena McKennitt, and Peter Gabriel as influences.

When you listen to her haunting and sensual rock songs, you’ll understand why Les Reynolds of indie-music.com says, "Alice Marie is a star. And by star, I don’t mean only as a musician. Her songs come from someplace way beyond music."
