Although I've always been very deep into music; a life-long Rush fan along with other groups and musical forms, I am new to the making of music. I picked up a guitar for the first time last year when my wife bought me an Ibanez Art series for Father's Day.

I felt an immediate connection with the guitar and in my first year playing I've enjoyed learning lines and tunes from Rush, Boston, Metallica, and BOC. So taken, several members of my immediate family went together and bought me a Gibson SG 61 reissue.

Lately I've found great joy in making music and I've learned my way around ProTools and picked up a midi-controller keyboard to complete the songs I'm writing.

Since I've only been playing for a year, I'm happy to hear any kindly advice.
