Mike Cantwell is a songwriter, composer, musician, and home recording engineer. Mike creates music in Pop, Rock, Country, Soundtracks, Smooth Jazz, and many other genres. Hey Mike,

Thanks for the review of my instrumental "Chestterro".....as you noted, clearly, a world tune, specifically Middle East. Sorry you weren't really fond of the ZURNA woodwind part. It is played to use that funky "slur"....that gets people's attention....you'll hear it a lot if you go to Turkey and seek out the local music.....

When I composed this tune, I was inspired by "Bolero", but wanted some more Middle Eastern...so I used more specific instruments like the zurna to give it a true Middle Eastern edge and flavor.

Anyway, hope all is well with you and that life & music is treating you well.
