Jim Smola grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts with corn in his front yard and cows in the back.
Jim was involved in music all through his school years and continued on after that.
Jim played in many projects including as one of the founders of the group “King
Radio”, which found their way on to the “Tar Hut” record label.
Jim has been a writer and performer since his high school days. He has written over 200 songs and a dozen compositions. He’s written everything from baroque to punk but he always settles back into his traditional country and americana roots.

James Smola is from a small town in Western Massachusetts. He grew up with corn in the front yard and cows in the back.
Early on, music became a major part of his life. He became very active in his high school music department where he first started writing music with his friends.
After high school, James continued in music playing with several groups. He was a founding member of the band "King Radio" that landed a position on the "Tar Hut" record label.
James has played and written everything from baroque to punk, but he always settles back into his traditional country and American roots.
