DEREK HANDY

Currently an elementary music teacher, my lifelong dream/goal is to be able to make a living writing, producing, performing, and composing full time for various artist and TV/Film. At this point, I have acquired three publishing agreements with a call back from a third company pending (these were for Hip Hop, Pop, and Comedy instrumental tracks for possible use in TV/Film). I also licensed seventeen of my Hip Hop Instrumental tracks to Bunim/Murray Productions for use in P-Diddy’s Making The Band Pt. 2 (airing on MTV), and such shows as Real World, Road Rules, etc., all produced by Bunum/Murray.

I am the songwriter/musician, producer, engineer, lyricist, lead singer, and background singer/arranger of my material. I am also fortunate to have a wife to assist me with additional musical, technical, financial, and emotional support. Currently using a Pro Tools setup, I record all my music in my home studio.
