60cycle presents PURE ELECTRONIC. No synths, samplers, keyboards, computers, sequencers, or traditional sound generators are used in this project. The only input is pure electricity, humming along at 60 cycles (Hz), amplified, molded, and looped through two undisclosed electronic devices. Electricity surrounds us at all times, seeping into our subconscious and affecting us in ways we are just beginning to understand. This project seeks to embrace our ever present friend, bringing the background noise we usually tune out to the surface and conjuring new and familiar sonic landscapes with this most basic source. These pieces are excerpts from live performances with no added effects or processing. Each performance is a unique improvisation, unrepeatable and existing only in recorded form.
