The Yellow Belts formed in the summer of 2003 and are on the verge of tearing it up in the grand tradition of guitar-driven rock ’n’ roll. When band members Brian and Earl aren’t rocking out with The Yellow Belts, they are holding down the rhythm section for the legendary cowpunk band Nine Pound Hammer. Lead vocalist and lyricist Lawrence Tarpey has fronted a number of bands over the years including the seminal punk rock band Active Ingredients.

The Yellow Belts fuse the best elements of punk, garage and 70s rock ‘n’ roll into songs that are sonically aggressive, melodic and lyrically thought provoking. They've recently shown up on a number of Broadjams Top 10 list including the "Earth Top 10 list". They have played a number of packed shows in their hometown of Lexington, KY and will soon begin touring. They also just finished recording twelve new songs with producer/engineer David Barrick whose credits include The Kentucky Headhunters, Nashville Pussy and Nine Pound Hammer.
