Band History:
===========
The Stephen Davis Project was born in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2004 when Steve looked up from his glass of Jack Daniels and said, "Man, I got some songs, but I need some lyrics. I can't write a sentence." It just so happened that his brother-in-law Harry had some lyrics, but no tunes. It was as if the musical equivalent of a Reese's Peanut Butter cup was born.

Band Bio:
=========
Steve Davis (Tacoma, WA): My profession is computers (programming) but my passion is music. I'm a closet musician (play guitar & sing) not publicly, just for my own enjoyment. I have my own crude (inexpensive) home PC recording studio of which I use to record and produce my music. Recently I started collaborating with my brother in-law, Harry Lockwood, who writes all the song lyrics, emails them to me and then I put them to music. Since 06/04 we've completed three songs (posted here) and are currently working on a few more...

Harry Lockwood (Santa Clara, CA): As Chief Lyrics Officer (CLO) for the Stephen Davis Project, I try to breathe some life into the otherwise hum-drum existence of working for a major corporation. Many of the song lyrics were composed in the middle of meetings on Risk Management.

Rob Sturza (Black Diamond, WA): My profession wall-papering offices with trend charts. On Sundays, I perform with our Church's Praise band. Background, majored in Low Brass Performance, failed an audition for the United States Marine Band (believe me, that's a tough gig to get) and decided to get a degree that I could make some money with. Currently have a project studio complete with grand piano, drumset, keyboards. Influences include keyboardists Wakeman and Lord, any salsa sounding horn group and of course Yanni.

Lyrics -Conversation(YouWant...)

Conversation (You Want to Have) (© 2004)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Conversation that you want to have
but let's not have it now
Cause a conversation like you want to have
will only bring me down

After all...
It's a sunny day
with an evening haze
Look around at the
kids in the park
playing until dark

Conversation that you want to have
but let's not have it now
Cause a conversation like you want to have
will only bring me down

And you know that...
We're on holiday
I still got-ta say
that I know that
this bitter pill's
coming straight from Dr. Phil

There'll be some money spent
and e-mails sent
There'll be other plane rides
and power point slides
but when it's all said and done
we'll be back at square one

Conversation, Conversation
Conversation, Conversation

Conversation that you want to have
but let's not have it now
Cause a conversation like you want to have
will only bring me down

Lyrics - Pick Of The Plant

Pick of the Plant (© 2004)
-----------------------------------------
Jimmy's sits on mahogany row
Mini skirt and a shiny little 'fro
Just out of school and she's brand new
And he calls her the ebony ingénue

Billy's is up on the second floor
Sits outside the emergency door
Bangs and bows, and upsettingly cute
In her bobby sox and black little boots

She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant
She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant

She's called his pop and it's P-O-P
Cause everyone needs one pick of the plant

Dan's is over in Building 551
Tailored suits and a tight little bun
She's all business walking the halls
Sending memos and breaking some balls

She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant
She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant

She's called his pop and it's P-O-P
Cause everyone needs one pick of the plant
She's called his pop and it's P-O-P
Cause everyone needs one pick of the plant

She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant
She's his P-O-P
She's his pick of the plant

Lyrics - Yahoo Girl

Yahoo Girl (© 2004)
-----------------------------------
Crossing Mathilda in black capris
No chance you're gonna look at me
Dented Honda and a dead-end job
Wrinkled shirt and badge saying Bob

Cause you're a Yahoo Girl
and I know what that means
You're a Yahoo Girl in hip hugger jeans

Outside of the Java Cafe
I could barely get outa your way
Flying by in your shiny A-6
Carload of high-tech hippie chicks

Cause you're a Yahoo Girl
and I know what that means
You're a Yahoo Girl in hip hugger jeans

And the reality I can clearly see
It’s an irony that isn’t lost on me

I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo -- Girl

Daydreaming on the 101
About the days that'll never come
Cuz while I’m thinking about us
You're writing code in C++

Cause you're a Yahoo Girl
and I know what that means
You're a Yahoo Girl in hip hugger jeans

And the reality I can clearly see
It’s an irony that isn’t lost on me

I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
I'm a Yay-hoo and you're a Yahoo Girl
