In my dreams at times it seems like we’re still together
Sometimes in my dreams it seems like we’ll be together forever
Then I wake to find the dream is over
Those days are gone
It’s all over between us now
And yet these dreams go on and on

Now I lay me down to sleep
I’m slipping off to Dreamland (slipping, tripping, slipping)
Tripping into the REM, hoping you’ll be there again
Night after night I pray I’ll meet up with you in Dreamland
Night after night I pray these dreams will never end, but then

I wake up
There’s a new day dawning.
I drag myself up out of bed, rub my eyes, stretch and yawn
I go about my busy day, there are jobs to do, I’ve got bills to pay
Life is a dream, but the dream is over
How did we end up this way?
