Story Behind The Song
This a result of a period of time when I was writing blues songs to get gigs at blues clubs. I liked the humor in the idea of a blind date not showing up but ending up having a good time with someone else.
Song Description
The perils of bind dates and possibly finding the right person when least expected.

Lyrics
Blind Date 1998 Michael B. Carlisle
V1:
Said he would meet you here,
Roundabout six o-clock.
Here it is nearly eight o-clock,
And you?re still alone.
I?m sure any minute now,
He?ll come a-walkin? through that door.
V2:
She said she would meet me here,
Round about six o-five.
Said we could talk a while,
And maybe we would get along.
But I?ve been sittin? over there,
Countin? the minutes by the songs
CHORUS:
Can I buy you a drink,
Maybe talk for a while.
We could talk about love.
Maybe share a smile
We could talk about romance
and heartache and pain.
We could talk about past loves
and the one?s that got away
For as long as we?re waiting? here
There?s no sense in our waiting alone.
SOLO BREAK:
CHORUS:
Can I buy you another
Maybe one more for me
Now hear it is Midnight
and it?s just you and me.
They don?t know what they?ve been missin?
All the fun that we?ve had
Hey, maybe tomorrow, we?ll meet again.
For as long as we?re waitin? here,
There no sense in our waiting alone.
