Molly - Midlife Crisis

Story Behind The Song

I thought Molly liked me. She wore the shortest shorts and I couldn't keep my eyes off her legs. She was smart, pretty and a hottie. I gave her a graduation present and after that I wrote her this song, trying to make my move. I guess I was pretty foolish. When word got out that I wrote her a song, it got me kicked out of the YMCA too.

Song Description

A love story about a middle age man who likes a young woman he met at the gym. He is saying she could never love me. But he starts thinking about some of the old guys (Billy Bob, Hugh Hefner, George Clooney) who have young girlfriends and by the end of the song he is telling himself he's stil 18 inside and he's asking her out, trying not to stare at her beautiful half naked body.

Lyrics

MOLLY (MIDLIFE CRISIS)

verse 1
I know this young girl, Molly is her name
When she walks into the room, My heart goes all aflame
If I was just twenty years younger, MAYBE it would be all right
To tell sweet Molly, All the things that I wanna do tonight
verse 2
I got this midlife crisis, And I?m acting like a fool
Molly just graduated, Wondering if she should go to school
I could be her teacher (I?d teach her), But I?d probably break all the rules (a thing or 2)
And tell sweet Molly, All the things that I like to do
chorus
But I look in the Mirror, and what do I see
Grey hair and wrinkles, She could never ever want me (uh uh)
My life?s half over, Hers is only begun
I don?t think I?m gonna have, THAT kind of fun
Molly and me, Is it ever gonna be, More than just a dream, Molly and me
verse 3
Well Billy Bob, He?s got Angela Jolie
Hugh Hefner?s gotta young girl, For every nite of the week
And it really drives me looney, To see all those girls who dig George Clooney
(Clooney...come on..) What about me, Molly and me
chorus
But I look in the mirror, And what do I see
Grey hair and wrinkles, But my eyes are still 18
My life?s half over, Hers is just begun
Oh Molly dear, Do you think we could have some fun?
You and me, Is it ever gonna be, More than just a Dream
Molly and me, Is it just me?
bridge
Well her she comes again, Now try to be cool, Treat her like a friend,
Now try to be cool man, Look in her eyes, Don?t look at her thighs
(how about Thursday, Friday, Saturday, wanna go to church...take my number..here.)
Treat her like a friend
end
Is it ever gonna be, Molly and Me, or is it just a dream
Oh are you gonna be, My Angela Jolie
Pretty Molly, Pretty Molly
OWCH here she comes again

Oh Man Molly!
