Story Behind The Song
The concept for the song came about when a friend of mine was kept under strict and unreasonable control. The control even endangered our relationship and I felt that we continued to grow farther and farther apart. My friend was old enough to live her own life and I wrote the lyrics to encourage her to remain strong.
Song Description
The song is about taking everything that you learned as a child and applying it to your own life. It has to deal with self discovery and exploration. You have to be allowed to live as an adult and if you are not then you have to break away and find your own individual identity on your own.
