The Mighty King

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this on a peaceful Sunday morning while camping in Western Maryland Appalachias.

This is about Heaven, and how it's not what we picture as this big mansion and clouds and stuff. What it actually is is better than all of the material stuff.

Lyrics

The Mighty King
©2005 SRu594-957

Down in the depths of hell
Where I did stand
The gracious Lord
Held out his hand
He lifted me out
Of eternal heat
And laid me down
On his snowy white beach
Then he took me up
To his mansion there
He said take a load off
And grab a chair
?Let My angels
to you just sing?
I knew that moment
I was with the King

Chorus:

I know that Heaven
Ain?t a mansion on the hill
Everything There is calm and still
Where love and freedom reign supreme
And I kneel before The Mighty King

Then God sent his angels
To serve me wine
The best fine china
For this joyous time
On a golden table
With silver chairs
A bountiful feast
Beyond compare
When the feast was over
I?s showed my bed
A golden bed frame
To lay my head
The finest mattress
The softest down
All just for me
Another sinful man

Chorus
